Ballet ~ New Wave Ballet at The Alex Theatre

Saturday night the Los Angeles Ballet presents four exciting world premieres that should tempt anyone who loves ballet and who is not looking for your typical classical ballet experience. Think edgy, highly adult with lots of modern dance in the mix. You will certainly have alot to talk about post ballet.

Music ~ Elaine Stritch At The Disney Concert Hall

Would you like to see a broadway legend who could stop a show with her rendition of ” Ladies who lunch” from arguably the best show Sondheim ever wrote, Company. When they call someone a trouper, they are talking about Elaine Stritch and when she takes the trouble to come to Los Angles, it would truly be crazy not to be in your seat this Saturday night. More Music~ Esperanza Spalding at The Fonda Theatre

Esperanza Spalding is a talent! She is also adorable, we happened to be on the red carpet at the Oscars with her and I loved her dress ( yes, I have to throw that in) It is amazing that someone so young has so much talent both as a bassist and a singer. She is performing Friday night only at The Music Box at The Henry Fonda Theatre. A chance to see her live should not be missed.

Photography ~ Herb Ritts L.A. Style at The Getty

You shouldn’t miss the iconic fashion and celebrity photography of Herb Ritts now on view at the equally striking Getty Museum. I like to visit the Getty late in the day and stay for dinner at the restaurant overlooking the westside canyons at sunset, a pretty vista that you can only see from the Getty ( unless you happen to have a fabulous house up there)

Music ~ Le Salon de Musique ~ Chamber Music Concert Series

How can you miss something that’s described as a cross between a performance at Lincoln Center with the intimacy of Coco Chanel’s living room? You can’t, that’s why Sunday night you must partake in the charming musical event provided by Le Salon de Musiques upstairs at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a theme Opus 35, conversation post concert with the performers, champagne and a buffet by Patina: what’s not to like?

Space 15 Twenty ~ A Curated Environment In Hollywood

If you haven’t checked out the unique retail environment that is Space 15 Twenty on Cahuenga and Sunset in Hollywood, now is the time. Don’t judge the setting by whizzing by in your car. You must get out to explore the cool setting anchored by Urban Outfitters. Not an ordinary Urban Outfitters, here they have set up a collaboration with interesting brands and each merchant is connected by a pretty central courtyard. It’s possible to sit on the welcoming patio, taking a spell between shopping at Hennessey + Ingalls ( the finely curated architecture bookstore) grab a Umami burger, get your hair done or peek into Free People or Pharmacy, a very hip board shop. They also have pop up events and a Yoga, Booty, Ballet class ( that about covers everything!) on offer occasionally. Check the website for the latest events. I happen to know a 5.00$ Sample sale is coming up at Urban Outfitters. Did I mention the photo booth? a nice touch to document your outing!
